“ I was wondering if anybody could tell me about weebly.com.

I have used it several times and I have made my websites as a sub-domain of weebly.

I have read about Blogger.com where they control your site and you could lose everything.

Weebly does give you the option of using you own domain.

Is using weebly sub-domains like blogger?

Should I just from now on use my own domain?

Thank you
Patricia Lucey

“ This is for Craig Desorcy if possible.

I just accidentally installed a plugin I didn't intend to, and I am not sure if it is a hack.

Was an oversight, I was using Plugin Central which allows one to install plugins by inserting the URL or the name. I put in "Twitter Tools" (I should have used the URL itself) and got to a plugin which creates a widget that leads to the twitter account of a person who calls himself "harper is a hacker" and his last status update is "I AM IN YOUR API EXAMPLES!"

Oh dear ... I don't know what this is about, if it is a bluff, a hack, or what. I deleted the plugin and changed my password but am not sure what to do next. I don't know what damage could have been done by the plugin if any ... I don't even know where to look.

Any ideas? ”

“ Can anyone give me a plain-English definition of "inline"?

As in, "inline posts" in Wordpress. Or "to show and hide inline posts."

I just installed a plugin called "AJAXed Wordpress" and it keeps talking about "inline," "enabling or disabling inline posts," etc.
Everything I find in Google is technie jibberish, I can't understand this word. ”

“ Is there a plugin or other technique which can be employed on a Wordpress theme which uses excerpts but does not include an "excerpt" box in the "Write Post" page?

For example, I bought this theme recently:

http://themeforest.net/item/universum-premium-business-wp-theme/43321

On the "services" page it pulls excerpts from the sub-pages automatically but it does not allow me to control what appears in the excerpt.

I might encounter the same problem with other themes and would like to know if there is a plugin or tutorial available somewhere which will teach me how to control what appears in the excerpts, if this function is not built into the theme. ”

“ I am looking for a good quality Wordpress theme which has three widget areas along the top and has a professional appearance.

It is for a site I am putting together for my freelance work. So it will not be totally stiff or corporate, but not very personal or "bloggy" either. And not too narrow.

An example of the top widget areas I'm referring to is the theme at ultimatebloggingtheme.com - but that is not quite it ...

ANY suggestions would be helpful! ”

“ How do you handle plagiarism and scraped content?

Once in a while I find that people have taken my poetry and published it as their own, either by putting their name as the author, or by simply publishing it without credits or links.

I allow people to use my poems with my permission, but they always have to include the credits, and links to my blog.

I have my poetry on my blogs and it is also published in a book on Lulu. Since I am the first person to publish it online, it should not be hard to prove that it is mine if I needed to ... but oh, the hassle ... and I don't know where to start.

Once I wanted to tackle this but I got a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the exact procedures to take (if I can't resolve it by simply contacting the site owner). Then I got swamped in legalese etc.

Do you know where I can find some good guidance or step-by-step advice on this? ”

“ I've just created another optin option on my wordpress blog & I have 2 PC's I check
performance on. I installed my new optin form from Aweber on my side bar using the
Text Widget function, it looks & fits well on 1 PC (17 inch monitor) but looks terrible on my
other PC (21 inch monitor).

There is a massive amount of blank space between the Optin heading to were the
actual name & email box is, how do I get rid of all that blank space?

Also when you add something new into your side bar I've found it can mess with other
things you have added for example, banners. The code is still there but the
banner isn't visible anymore :( not sure how to fix that either.
The only difference between the PC's is the size of the monitors.
Thanks.

“ I have a blog which gives news within a certain niche. I add original content regularly but the readers could be benefited by other news stories as well.

Technically I know how to use RSS feeds to update my blog. But how do I know when it is okay to do so, or not? In terms of copyrights and ethics, I don't want to use anyone's content without knowing it is okay with them.

Even if the posts are just summaries with links to source, that would be fine, as it would still benefit my readers and make sure the blog stays up to date even if I sometimes can't post for a few days or more. ”

“ I would like to set up a couple of blogs using my own domain and hosting but require a good resource to design them for me. Can you recommend a good design resource to have this done. Also, can blogs have different urls for different categories within the blog. Or do they all have the same url.
Thankyou. ”

“ Regarding: How to find RSS Feeds with content that is okay to publish.

I have several blogs which get regular updates with unique content but I would like to add some content from other sources as well. I have software and plugins which will post the content of RSS feeds on my blog.

The question is, how does one quickly find RSS feeds with content that is okay to use, and possibly which is published in full (maybe with a link or resource box at the bottom), so that I could add this to my blog without violating any copyrights or RSS-etiquette.

I have heard the "do a Google Search" and have tried this. But I am hoping there is a more pinpointed method of doing this, in order to find RSS feeds that fit the description above. ”

“ I recently set up a Wordpress blog (Wordpress version 2.7.1). I set up my permalinks with the custom format of /%postname%. However, I always get the page not found error for any pages except for the homepage.

In fact, all of the other available permalink choices don't work either except for the default option.

I'm aware that this is know problem with Wordpress. Do you know of an easy workaround for this or a plugin that solves this problem?

Thanks.

“ Hi this question is for Craig Desorcy. Thanks for answering my questions. My name is pronounced La-Tish-Sha, where tish ryhmes with fish. I have another question for you; do you mind sharing the name of the theme that you are using on your idiot proof blogging site. It is very user friendly and is great for navigation. Is it one of word presses free themes or is it one that requires payment. Also i went to the warrior forum as you suggested to look around and do some forum marketing with my free report. I found that; that particular forum is for internet marketers, and my niche is health related. I went to a health related forum and was very careful not to spam and follow the rules. After i answered a question i was notified that the link to my free report in my signature was removed. What are your thoughts on that topic as far as careful tactics related to marketing in different forums. And by the way thank for you for sharing your 53 page free report on installing your first wordpress blog; it is an excellent resource. In advance thank you for your response. ”
